On the Canon 600EX RT you need to press in the little button on the side to swivel the head around, the YN600EX-RT doesn’t have this button, the head can just be moved, it is stiff though and doesn’t move under it’s one weight.

  • Chad, From my practical use of the EOS 7D with both firmware 1.2.5 and version 2 I have found that the ST-E3-RT and the 600EX-RT CAN be used in high speed sync with the EOS 7D.
  • I have a Canon 600ex-rt and Canon 430ex. The 600 is mounted to a new 60D and will be the master, the 430 the slave. I cannot get a link light on the 600 to light green and of course the 430 does not fire.
  • Both the 600EX-RT and ST-E3-RT may be subject to legal restrictions of use when in their Radio Transmission (RT) mode.
